Bonjour-India Festival, The Alliance Française of Hyderabad and Krishnakriti Foundation
With the support of Culture France and The French Embassy present
A team of 27 professionals from Compagnie Off will fly over from France, joined by a team of about 20 Indian volunteers from Chennai, trained and integrated to the team during theatre and stilt-walking workshops on site.
The show is not limited to a stage and a place but the city becomes the setting for a magenta ballet of immense necks. Their heads flirt with stories as much as with the people on the ground. Manipulated, articulated, disarticulated, inhabited by stilt-walkers both blind and invisible, they play the game and let themselves be tamed.
On the ground, the circus boys try and tease the senses, noses and papillae of the giraffes, as well as the audience’s. Through a fit of clownesque and theatrical play, the band gets carried away inside the radiant storm passing through the city.
Compagnie Off is a Street Arts company, playing at handling universal themes: love, death, the elements, etc, Born in 1986, Compagnie Off started off with the creation of small outdoors spectacles.
Its spectacular and lively performances unfold within structured but quick-sand-like universes.
Compagnie Off has three wishes: to want every show to be performed as if it were the last, to want the fish to get an idea of what water is, and to want, always to want.
Due to consideration of security for our visitors, the organizers have felt it prudent to cancel the show from this year’s festival line-up.
