Born in 1963 in Kerala, Bose Krishnamachari studied Painting at the Sir J J School of Art, Mumbai, and received Masters from the Goldsmiths College, University of London. He has achieved a great presence in the Indian and International art scene over the years with several successful shows with Art Galleries and Museums across the world. Bose actively curates and conceptualizes exhibitions for the young emerging as well as established artists. He opened Gallery BMB in South Mumbai in 2009 with a vision to bring the best national and international art to India. He has been the Artistic Director and Co-Curator of international exhibition of contemporary art Kochi-Muziris Biennale held in Kochi, Kerala in 2012. Bose is currently the President of the Kochi Biennale Foundation, and the Biennale Director of Kochi-Muziris Biennale.
Krishnamachari was awarded by the Kerala Lalit Kala Academy, and also was the first runner up for the Bose Pacia Prize for Modern Art, New York, in 2001 besides other prestigious honours. He lives and works in Mumbai.
